Peugeot Mills are renowned the world over for their precision made stainless steel pepper and salt grinding mechanisms. They are seen in all the best restaurants and are used by all the great chefs.
Peugeot have been manufacturing pepper & salt mills since 1840, where production originated in France. The Lion symbol first appeared in 1850. The Lion symbolises the qualities of Peugeot, the strength of the teeth, the flexibility of the blades and the cutting speed. The Peugeot mill today still retains these assets.
Peugeot pepper mills have one of the most reliable mechanisms on the market and it is being constantly improved to give reliability and durability. It has been specially designed for milling peppercorns and therefore is not suitable for milling other spices. The two rows of helicoidal grooves allows the peppercorns to be gathered and transported to the base where they are wedged before being ground. The salt mill is more recent addition and the mechanism is suitable for grinding large grains of dry sea salt, it is not suitable for dampgrey or flaked sea salt. The mechanism is made from stainless steel so that the salt will not corrode the mechanism.
